Bio

Whitney Staats is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and has full prescriptive authority for both specialties. She treats clients across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics. While medications are beneficial, Whitney also utilizes a comprehensive, holistic treatment approach including therapy and lifestyle changes while frequently employing conservative prescriptive approaches. She incorporates a family/patient-centered philosophy when caring for others. Whitney is also dedicated to supporting people in recovery from substance use and utilizes medication-assisted treatment (MAT), when appropriate. Whitney prefers tele-health services, where clients can do virtual appointments from the comfort of their own home.

In 2008, Whitney graduated from Regis University in Denver, CO with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Whitney also completed her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Regis University (2014). In 2017, Whitney completed her Post Masters Certificate in Psychiatry at University of Colorado Denver. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Whitney worked in family practice for 1.5 years and retail health for 2 years and has cared for patients across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric). Additionally, as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Whitney has experience caring for clients (and families) experiencing serious mental illnesses at a local community mental health center. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Whitney worked as a Registered Nurse for 4 years. Her RN experience includes critical care (adults), outpatient family practice (internal medicine and pediatrics), and pediatric home health nursing.
