Bio

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I received certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center specializing in psychiatry starting in 2016. I carry board certification in the state of Colorado.

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I moved my practice to predominantly Telehealth. Due to patient satisfaction with this appointment method, most of my practice going forward will be virtual with in-person hours that will be available on a case-by-case basis.

As a psychiatric practitioner, I think it’s vital to look at the “whole” person. To this end, I attempt to apply an integrative approach in my treatment and planning, which means that my recommendations and suggestions for psychiatric interventions may include traditional psychiatric pharmaceuticals, vitamins, herbs and supplements as well as referrals for therapeutic interventions.

Due to my interest in Integrative Medicine, I participated in a one-year fellowship with the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in Colorado from July 2019 – June 2020 to continue to expand my knowledge base in complementary/alternative treatment approaches with leaders in the field and other like-minded practitioners. I obtained my Integrative Psychiatric provider certification in August 2020 and want to continue this in my practice through continuing education and certifications.

My previous work experience includes:

  • APRN: Private Practice experience beginning April 2016, Outpatient Care at The Centre for Behavioral Health Porter Hospital, August 2016 – February 2019
RN: Registered Nurse at Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan, Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse at the Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Peaks Hospital, Correctional Nurse at Adams County Detention Center.

All my nursing experience has been obtained in Colorado.

I was born and raised in Colorado and have lived here for 35 plus years. I am married and enjoy playing video games, reading, bike riding, walking, as well as taking care of all my “furry” children.
