Bio

Helen E. Thilly, LCSW is a Denver therapist with more than 17 years of experience helping adults, young adults, adolescents, couples, and families navigate difficult and often complicated periods of life. She works with clients experiencing anxiety and chronic stress, relationship difficulties, divorce and breakups, life transitions, career and work stress, trauma, parenting challenges, and self-doubt.

Helen’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. She believes therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what’s going on without feeling judged or having to have everything figured out first. She works with each client to better understand patterns that may be getting in the way, develop practical tools for managing stress and emotions, and make changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.

Helen integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and relational therapy, tailoring her approach to each person’s needs. She has advanced training in trauma treatment and psychodynamic psychotherapy and has extensive experience helping clients work through anxiety, relationship concerns, major life changes, and difficult past experiences.

Helen earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2007. She provides therapy in person at Alder Grove’s Cherry Creek office in Denver and through secure virtual sessions across Colorado.
